I’m Here to Help

When you feel stuck because of a major loss, adverse childhood experiences or are experiencing a significant life transition, friends and family may not always know what to say or how to help and that can feel quite uncomfortable.  It can leave you feeling not only disconnected from yourself, but also from them and from your surroundings.  This can be a painful and lonely place, but you do not have to go through this on your own.

I am not here to tell you what to think, how to feel or what to say because you are unique and your experiences are unique too.  I am here to listen with an open heart, with empathy and with a genuine interest in supporting you.  You have the answers and solutions within you and I am here to help you find them.

Frequently Asked Questions

In this section, I include questions that clients often ask, or want to know about therapy with me.

How much does it cost?

Sessions are offered online and face-to-face:

Online: £70 per 50-minutes for individuals/£90 per 50-minutes for couples.  Longer sessions can be considered for which an additional charge is levied.

Face-to-face: £90 per 50-minute session for individuals/£110 per 50-minute session for couples.

Payment is to be made to my bank account 48-hours in advance of sessions.  Details will be provided when the first session is booked.

48 hours-notice to cancel or change an appointment is required to avoid paying the full fee.  Of course, I understand that there will be times when this is not possible.  We can discuss how to proceed when this happens.

What is your qualification?

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and I hold a MSc in the person-centred approach.

I have undertaken additional CPD training in complex grief, group facilitation, working with couples, adverse childhood experiences and trauma, inner child work, and ADHD.

Tell me about your experience

I have been working with individuals since 2010 in a variety of settings: Mind, a carers support service, a psychiatric housing association and I continue to volunteer at a bereavement service in East London.

I have worked with anxiety, depression, grief and loss (including complex grief), work-related stress, traumatic life experiences, adverse childhood experiences, and couples/relationship issues.

I was the supervisor and lead trainer for RoadPeace delivering psycho-educational training and therapeutic support to families tragically affected by road crashes.

How many sessions will I need?

It is not always necessary to determine in advance how many sessions you will need.  However, in order to establish a relationship, I recommend coming weekly for a least one month.  Whilst weekly is always the best option, there are times when fortnightly or monthly sessions are preferred by clients, and these can be arranged if diary permits.

If you are seeking a monthly session only, this is described as a check-in rather than therapy because the therapy I offer is based on the relationship we co-create.  It is difficult to do that with such long gaps, without first establishing that relationship.  Again, I would recommend at least a month of weekly sessions before moving to monthly.

Sessions end when you feel ready to stop coming; it can be useful to work towards an ending over a few weeks.
